MBC Drama Series “Heading To The Ground” will take its early ending bell on the 5th next month.

Initially “Heading To The Ground” is agreed to have 20 episodes broadcast time, however it will be cut to only 18 episodes instead.

MBC official on the 14th said “Due to the poor audience rating record, “Heading To The Ground” will be ended early on the 5th next month.” he added, “while as the consequence, Lee Junki’s drama “Heroes” will air a week early on the 11th.”

“Heading To The Ground” is not the first MBC drama whose episodes are cut due to the painful single digit rating.

Meanwhile “Heroes” will have Lee Jun Ki and Kim Min-jung as its main casts .

Dream Concert 2009 seems to be most heavily noted as “The Concert Without,” or, more harshly, “Nightmare Concert 2009,” courtesy of a select few (semi-butthurt) fangirls. But with the sudden lack of fangirl favorites Jaebum and DBSK, as well as the unaired 2PM and Big Bang performances, one might understand their disappointment. Nonetheless, this disappointment also spurned the lack of fans at the concert–most notably Hottest, due to the ongoing strike against all things 6PM; I AM, due to the short notice of 2AM’s addition to the Dream Concert roster; and Cassiopeia, who seem to just not want to go to a concert sans their beloved Dong Bang boys.

But wait! What’s that I see…



Red glowsticks? Pearl red balloons? Screams at the three-second appearance of Jaejoong’s bare chest on the jumbotron? Golly gee, they did show up after all!

According to multiple fan accounts, Cassiopeia attendees of the Dream Concert were also highly supportive of other groups’ performances, rather than just sitting there sulking at the DBSK-lessness of it all. It’s refreshing to finally see a considerable amount of maturity beginning to blossom from this once-infamously fanatic group.

Even when their opinions differ, they are able to naturally understand each other when they communicate with one another.

-Even when they’re on and off as Tohoshinki members, the two are always close together. Where do you think each other’s charm lies? To further inform our readers who only see the two on stage, please let us hear your thoughts
JJ: I think Yuchun’s good point is when his heart moves. Besides having that in common with him, I feel that we are the same. I’ve always felt that way since the first time I met him.
YC: I think Jaejung’s best point is that he is the type who listens to others well. His charm lies in both the way you can talk earnestly with him and how he understands your pain.
-Was the image of your first meeting memorable?


JJ: When I heard that Yuchun was coming back from America as an exchange student there to join Tohoshinki, I freely built up an image of him in my mind. He was totally different from my image of him: blonde hair, blue eyes, and white skin (laughs). He wore a colorful shirt, short pants, and sandals. He looked like a Chinese action star (laughs). But his mind was free-styled, and I was really glad. It just shows how you can’t judge a person from his appearance (laughs).
YC: At that time, Jaejung was into sports and he had these huge muscles. It was about twice the size of what he has now (laughs). When I first met him, he wore a tank top and shorts. I thought he was a K1 player. But after talking to him, I discovered that we had a lot in common and became really good friends.
-Is conversation important in seeing into men’s (hearts)?
JJ: Yes. We have differences in opinion too. We’re similar in the way how our emotions sway and we can talk with each other about anything- I think that’s the most important relationship of all.
YC: After a day’s work, while we go drinking, I’ll say, “I think this way, what do you think of it Jaejung?”. We do this quite often. Because we work with a lot of people, usually we have to read the overall atmosphere and be careful of what we say so that there are no misunderstandings. But during off-time, we can relax and say anything we want.
-So the important point is to not pay too much mind and speak frankly then. So how do you catch the other’s feelings and thoughts?
JJ: Yuchun discusses everything with me. That’s why I can completely understand that I can completely put my trust in him.
YC: During those times, I feel that I found happiness and I’m laughing with my whole heart. When we are together, I can put my full trust in him and talk to him about anything. We’re able to naturally understand each other.
-For the men who are able to open up to others, they can also trust in girls. This can serve as a reference. Thank you (for the interview).

The Congress Administrative Committee member said on the 8th October that according to a report that they received from the Korea Fair Trade Commission, from last year November to this year April, among 90 South Korea artists, 47 of them (52.2%) signed a long term contract with their company after Year 1990.

Among these 90 artists, 37 of them were male singers. 22 of them (59.4%) signed a 10 years contract with their company. There was also a female singer who even signed a 17 years contract with her company.

The committee member added: “They investigated a total of 580 artists and found out that 55 of them (9.5%) signed 10 years or above contracts with their company. Among them, 29.6% are singers, 3.2% are actors. The ratio is 10:1. 96 of them (16.5%) signed 7 years or above contracts with their company.

When Korean Boys Band TVXQ unfair contract has been exposed, the Korea Fair Trade Commission has published the relevant standard contracts that more than 7 years contracts are prohibit.

Amidst the warfare of SM Entertainment and three members of Dong Bang Shin Ki (plus non-excludable Cassies the world over), the five shinkis are to take off for a Shanghai concert tomorrow.

The (I expect) civilized rows and lawsuits thrown between both parties over the past month have been detrimental to everyone. Not only has it been draining, SM is likely to have made huge losses in the time that activities have been stalled for DBSK. This Shanghai concert can be seen as a minor time-out session as the boys will be spending a very important Chuseok weekend as a group and with their SM co-workers.

On 30th September, it was revealed that a film screening for Tohoshinki, a popular 5-member group from Korea, will take place and it consists of a special compilation of the best scenes at Tohoshinki's first Tokyo Dome concert. From 31st October till 6th November, it will be released in all of Tokyo・TOHO Cinema Ropongi Hills nationwide, and is estimated to mobilize about 50,000 people. It is possible that more theatres might be added on later. As this is a valuable opportunity to watch a film on Asia's Top Stars, there will be a lot of competition for the tickets.

With many premium Lives and footage, it will be shown on the big screens in the theatres.

They had 2 consecutive nights of performances at the Tokyo Dome on 4th and 5th July, and 100,000 tickets sold out almost immediately. As there were many fans who didn't get the chance to see them perform, at 2 other events held during July, they were filled with requests by the fans, who said that they wished to "watch the footage and PV from the Lives in a theatre". The members also wished to show the new footage sooner, to all the fans nationwide, and decided to screen it in the theatres so it would be more realistic and enjoyable.

From the 31st, all 19 theatres in the country will screen it, but there is also a possibility that there will be more theatres added.

The costs for planning such a large-scale project is also extraordinary. Firstly, the money invested for their overall productions is ¥700,000,000, which includes the publishing of a Tokyo Dome Concert Digest, to commemorate their great success at the Dome. In addition, during the Tokyo stop for the summer outdoor concert tour 「a-nation」, a Top 10 ranking for promotion videos voted by the fans was introduced. It also achieved a highest record of over 180,000 copies in their first shipment. The single achieved the #1 ranking on the Oricon Daily Charts, and it seems like the supportive fans will be enthusiastically running to get tickets to watch their amazing film in the theatres.

On the morning of September 25th, Beijing time, according to South Korean media reports that MBC TV drama Heading to the Ground”’s rating are in a bitter struggle. In between the 17th and 23rd of September, the ratings were recorded more than 5 %. However, during the late 24th of September, the drama’s ratings have yet again reached below 5 %.

South Korea’s ratings, according to research firm AGB Nielsen Company released on the morning of the 25th, statistics show that after the 24th’s brodacast of “Heading to the Ground,” the ratings have once again dropped back down again.

“Heading to the Ground” is a drama which Jung Yunho of TVXQ stars in, and has become a popular topic. However, after the drama has begun broadcasting, there has not been much improvement in ratings, with ratings hovering around 4-5 %.

This week’s star is Dong Bang Shin Ki’s leader Jung Yunho, who had just debuted as an actor. “Heading to the Ground” that aired last 9th of September is a drama that he has put a lot of effort into; no matter if it’s a success or a failure, he has put in all his very best to complete it. No matter how low it started, as long as you live to the fullest, somehow it will be successful. This is what Yunho himself has experienced, and it’s also a message he wanted to deliver to everyone through Cha Bong Gun.

After his debut a few years back, Yunho has always been a singer, who has now finally stepped into the acting field. His first taste in acting has brought him the excitement that he has never experienced before. Recently, Yunho had almost become Cha Bong Gun, and surprised himself whenever he ‘behaved’ like the character from the drama unknowingly.

The name list for this year’s China-South Korea Music Festival has been confirmed, and after 13 amendments, TVXQ’s name has been taken off the list.


The participants from South Korea include: Super Junior-M, SS501, Lee Jung Hyun, Jewelry, RYAN, YEOUL, Kan Mi Yeon, Koo Jun Yup, f(x).


Initially, the China’s broadcasting station extended invitations to TVXQ, but they were eventually rejected.

The leader of Korean idol groups TVXQ, while in the midst of a lawsuit with their company SM Entertainment, still decided to hold their 3rd Asia Tour Concert in Shanghai on the 2nd of October, to show their united charm as five.

Even though the three members are still having the lawsuit with regards to the contract with their company, they have stated, “For the sake of all the fans that have always supported us, we are definitely going to give a complete and flawless performance to repay everyone!”

The concert is estimated to cost 88.5 billion won, which includes all stage equipment, stage tools, sound system, lighting, and flying in from Korea to China. China will sponsor the giant LED screen as background, making sure that the performance can be seen from every corner, to provide the best stage effects.

Recently, Jaejoong and Yoochun are both busy with their new single promotion COLORS ~Melody and Harmony~, which is set to be aired on TV on the 23rd of September and to be officially released on the 30th of September.

This past Wednesday K-Pop idol Kang In sat down in a bar, sipped on a drink and exchanged a few words with another patron before exchanging fists with him outside.

The incident is raising the old question ― why do young celebrities misbehave?

Figuring out the best way to modulate the impact of their transgressions on hundreds of thousands of young fans is a serious issue, especially in the age of the Internet.

Yet, psychologists point out that it's mainly a case of a few rotten apples. Most entertainers are well-behaved, but it's the misbehaving ones that make the headlines.

Prof. Pyo Chang-won of the National Police Academy said that, in most cases, the stars' youthful immaturity led to the altercations. Ninety-nine times out of a 100, if somebody calls them names, the celebrities will walk away, but, in that one case, they'll get into a fight. It's that one time that makes the news.

"Teenage stars and those in their 20s are not mature enough to find peaceful resolutions when distressed," Pyo told The Korea Times.

The consumption of alcohol simply fans the flames. "As with ordinary people, there is a higher chance of acting out when they have drinks," the professor said.

Perhaps the bigger issue is what impact their callowness, whatever the cause may be, will have on their fans, most of whom are at very impressionable ages.

"Given their greater influence on society, celebrities should learn how to control themselves," Pyo said, adding that the celebrities' misbehavior must have a "staggering" impact on their fans.

A recent Labor Ministry-commissioned survey of 1,000 teenagers found that 23.1 percent of respondents agreed that celebrities were their role models.

The report also said the influence will be greater with the advent of the multimedia era.

Already, the Internet has been galvanized after Kang In was booked. His supporters have been flooding his agency SM Entertainment's Web site. Some criticized Kang In, but their numbers pale in comparison to those who support him.

One message shows blind support: "We trust you."

Yet, some aren't putting up with the star's antics. "How dare a public figure pick a fight with a citizen? Leave the band. Shame on you," another message read.

Singer Kim Chang-ryul, a member of DJ DOC, earned the nickname "street fighter" for his frequent participation in brawls.

The 36-year-old, who made his debut 15 years ago, recently confessed on a TV talk show that he has been involved in more than 100 fights since his debut and spent more than 75 million won in settlements. He's cleaned up his act, and hasn't made the headlines for fighting for a long time.

Actor Ju Ji-hoon, who had enjoyed a lofty reputation for his fine-tuned performances, was found guilty of consuming illegal drugs in June.

The 27-year-old was given a suspended six-month jail term, ordered to complete 120 hours of community service and pay 360,000 won in fines. The actress indicted with Ju on charges of smuggling drugs from Japan and distributing them to other entertainers was sentenced to three years in prison. Many industry observers believe that Ju is biding his time to make a comeback.

However, drunk driving has been the major cause for concern.

In April 2006, Hero, a member of the K-Pop idol group TVXQ, had his driver's license suspended for 100 days for drunk driving.

In 2005, Jun Jin, a member of popular K-Pop group Shinhwa, was caught while driving under the influence and had his license revoked. In the same year, Kim Sang-hyeok, a member of now-defunct Click-B, and Song Baek-kyeong, leader of hip-hop group 1TYM, failed field sobriety tests, resulting in their disappearances from the small screen.
