[News] Korean boyband tops Music One

MANILA, Philippines - Universal Records is happy with the sales of Super Junior’s Sorry, Sorry album, which reached the top spot of Music One in three days.

Korea’s Super Junior (photo) has outsold Whitney Houston, Black Eyed Peas, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.

Super Junior is a 13-member boyband that can sing, dance and do anything young, dynamic performers can offer.

The members are Leeteuk (the leader), Heechul, Hangeng, Yesung, Kang-in, Shindong, Sungmin, Euhhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeo Wook, Kibum and Laterkyuhyun. The Chinese member, Han Geng, was chosen from 3,000 applicants, via auditions in China in 2001.

Due to Super Junior’s success, other Korean talent management outfits have been training their groups in other areas of entertainment like acting and hosting.

Super Junior has earned four music awards from M.Net/KM Music Festival, another four from Golden Disk awards and the Favorite Artist-Korea at the MTV Asia Music Awards.

The band has released three studio albums, three CD singles and six compilation albums from SM Entertainment. It has also released seven movie soundtracks.

Sorry, Sorry is Super Junior’s third and latest album released in Korea last March. The album debuted at No. 1 on the South Korea’s Hanteo Daily Charts and became the bestselling album in South Korea, Thailand, and in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Yea, they will stay famous, but not rich. Whats the point of working so hard and their salary is split into 13.... I'd rather quit SUJU and start working at a fast food restaurant, maybe i can even earn more like this.

Plus, out of their total earnings of 10 units, SM takes 9 units, leaving 1 unit for SUJU. And that 1 unit must be further split into 13. LOL. Wat a joke. So if you guys keep buying their albums, SM will just earn more, while leaving SUJU a little of the whole profit. But if u do not buy their albums, SM will not earn and all the more SUJU will suffer. This is the whole intention of SM people. So do you think that buying their albums is helping SUJU out? I myself dont know. LSM is too smart.

I dont know how you can think they stayed in SUJU because of their salary.
