Korean hip-hop trio Epik High has decided to quit promotional broadcasting activities for their sixth album ``[e]''as one of its members has been drafted for mandatory military service.
The suspension came less than one month after the group released their latest album with the single ``Wannabe.''
The decision came ahead of DJ Tukutz's wedding on Oct. 13, and the start of his two-year military service on Oct. 15. He posted a letter, Wednesday, to his fans at the group's official Web site to inform them about the marriage and draft, saying ``I will leave just for a while.''
The group, composed of Tablo, Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz, will appear on an MBC music program today to discuss their plan.
Tablo also posted a photo of the group members on his Web site, Thursday, titled, ``There is no such a thing as an end.''
An Internet news provider cited a source as saying, ``Instead of continuing without Tukutz, they opted to stop until he comes back,''
However, Tablo and Mithra Jin are expected to continue their individual music projects.
Epik High recently made the iTunes Top 100 chart with the album.
The trio burst onto the Korean music scene six years ago with the album ``Map of the Human Soul'' and rose to stardom with consecutive hit songs, armed with catchy hip-hop tunes and socially relevant lyrics with a positive message.
