Photographs of a fully-recovered and chic-looking SS501 leader Kim Hyun-joong on set for a television commercial shoot were revealed on Thursday.

"We released the photos for fans who had been curious about Kim," said global cosmetics brand Tony Moly of the 23-year-old singer who turned up for a shoot last week.

The singer had halted all activities since early September after falling ill with the influenza flu while in Japan to promote his KBS hit TV series "Boys Over Flowers". He was discharged from the hospital with a clean bill of health but had not made a public appearance.

"We were in shoot from early morning to late at night but Kim did not seem tired and was having fun," a Tony Moly official at the scene of the shoot was quoted as saying.

The commercial is set for release in November.

Meanwhile, all five members of SS501 will perform at the Taipei Arena on Saturday. They have been on their "SS501 Asia Tour Persona 2009" since early August where they are set to perform at a total of 10 countries throughout Asia till early next year.

They are also set to make a comeback to the local music scene on October 20 with a new mini-album.

5-member male group SS501 is coming back.

SS501 (Kim HyunJoong, Kim KyuJong, Kim HyungJoon, Park JungMin, Heo YoungSaeng) has released Park JungMin and Kim HyungJoon’s solo photo on 14-Oct for their mini album ‘REBIRTH’ set to release on 20-Oct. In the album jacket photo released, Kim HyungJoon wore smoky make up and poses for 2 images, one with darkness and one surrounded with smoke, striking a mysterious charm.

This has been 1 year 7 months since all 5 members of SS501 release an album together. SS501 released a solo collection album consisting of solo songs of each member in June.

The special edition of this album includes a 100-page flipbook diary cum photobook and poster, will be released on 20 Oct while the normal edition will be released on 22-Oct.

Following the unfortunate footsteps of SS501 leader Kim Hyun-joong, K.Will has become the next major Korean celebrity to become diagnosed with the virus. The 28 year old was currently planning this second comeback for October 22nd but all promotions have come to a halt.

His management company says “he has been working overnight to prepare for his 2nd full length album. In an effort to make better music he was commonly overworking. Currently, his fever has subsided but we still have to wait until the rest of the medical examination results come. We are not sure when his actual comeback date will be .”

Well DSP Entertainment revealed more information and said that their official comeback performance will take place on October 23rd on KBS Music Bank. Similar to what SHINee is doing by releasing teaser photos for their upcoming album, SS501 will be releasing teaser photos on October 14th and 16th. They'll release teaser photos for 2 members on the 14th and reveal teaser photos for the rest of the 3 members on the 16th. The limited edition, which will be released on the 20th, two days before the standard mini-album release, will include a hundred-page flipbook style diary and a pictorial, as well as a nice poster for our beloved Triples to hang proudly on their walls. SS501 member Kim KyuJong’s first acting experience for webtoon drama ‘SETI’ received 700,000 views within 5 days upon its release of episode 1.

‘SETI’ is written by author Yoon TaeHo, famous for comic ‘The Moss’, its episode 1 recorded 700,000 views, notably more popular than ‘The Moss’ which recorded 450,000 views. Webtoon drama ‘SETI’, which debuted on 6-Oct through portal site Daum’s In the World of Comic, is an astronomical fantasy about searching for extra-terrestrial intelligence, the first ever combination of both comic and video format.

SS501 is coming to Taiwan on 15 October, they will held their Taiwan Persona Concert at Taiwan Arena on the 17 October. However, the fan sign meeting which was originally scheduled was cancelled suddenly. Due to this, many fans who had purchased the photobook were angry and accused the organizer, Broker Brothers Herald (BBH) for cheating their money. BBH revealed, SS501 will return to Korea in the afternoon on the same day. Since their schedule could not meet, it had to be cancelled.

Previously when SS501 held their fan sign meeting at Malaysia, the management company had limit only one signature for each fan, causing displeased to fans who had purchased 10 over pieces of albums. To fulfill their promise to fans when visiting Taiwan during end June, SS501 finally going to hold their concert in Taipei Arena on 17 October (Saturday). Having their concert in Taiwan for the first time, the 5 members and their Korea management company put in extra attention. Starting from 12 October, staff from Korea had already reached Taiwan. After this, gradually, a total of 50 Korea staff will be arriving in Taiwan for concert preparation. Daum loves their polls, and here’s another one for you to dissect. A recent poll poses the question of which idol singers would receive the most success when (not if) their group breaks up. The top ten was determined from the consensus of about 12,000 people polled. Who came out on top?

1. Yunho – “Heading to the Ground” isn’t exactly a big hit, but netizens love their U-Know, you know (whose idea was that name?). Fans believe his acting skills will become positively Shakespearean with time. He’s also hot.

2. Micky Yoochun - Not the one from Dong Bang Shin Ki I would have picked for a solo singing career, but perhaps it’s the power of the pimp hand.

3. G-Dragon – Most overrated idol? Fans are calling him the next Seo Taiji. He already has a massive selling solo album under his belt, so it’s not difficult to imagine him going after bigger and better things in the future.

Not disappointed that she beat out Sohee for this spot; whenever I see Sunye perform (especially solo) she does have a certain “something” that lends itself to her charisma and nice vocal skills. I could see this happening in the future.

6. Taeyeon – She’s got the vocal chops, therefore crowning her the rising ballad queen. Taeyeon also has a good reputation with the public, so out of the Soshis, she could be the most successful.

7. Yoona – Netizens think she may eventually be in league with actresses Jeon Ji Hyun and Kim Tae Hee. Really? Ok, well I can accept more as an actress than actress/singer, but she has received an unprecedented amount of attention considering her resume. She’s got plenty of time to prove herself, and I think she’ll be one of the first to break away for good in order to do so.

9. Kim Hyun Joong – He’s still riding a wave of momentum from “Boys Over Flowers,” but that poor boy needs to take a year long nap before he gets attached to any more projects.

Male group SS501 Park JungMin has been studying hard for Chinese language for their upcoming Taiwan concert.

SS501 will have their concert ‘PERSONA ASIA TOUR IN TAIPEI’ at Taiwan Super Arena on 17-Oct.

Park JungMin whom the reporter recently met with, is practicing hard for a Chinese song which requires him to study Chinese language for their upcoming Taiwan concert.

Park JungMin said “I am studying Chinese language in order to be able to converse with the fans in our Taiwan concert. Especially since the special solo stage is a Chinese song, I am memorizing the lyrics by heart now.”

In fact, Park JungMin has been memorizing the Chinese lyrics at each spare time during the recording for their mini album ‘REBIRTH’ to be released on 20-Oct, and getting ready for their overseas concert.

Park JungMin said “Even though we have studied a new language due to the long period of activity in Japan, but Chinese language is still very unfamiliar to us. Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to give you the latest scoop on what is planned for this month. I have good and bad news. First I'll start with the bad news, which is that I am officially off the SBS TV Program "Finding the Green Gold". There were some mis-communications that ended up with me and the other guys leaving the show... I was hoping that it would last longer but, unfortunately it is over but we still have 2 more episodes that haven't aired yet. Also, I am still apart of "SBS' 강심장 (Strong Heart)" and it has GREAT reviews so far so looking forward to working on this show more and more. Also, I just found out that I will be flying out to Chicago on the 29th of this month for an event that will be held on the 30th at the Christian Heritage Academy in Chicago. I hope some of you can make it out to see me perform. I'm pretty excited to get the chance to perform in Chicago... This will be my first time...

Members of Downtown (T/N from Japan show “Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende”) comedy group, an actor-director Hitoshi Matsumoto attended the press conference of “New World Culture” the 14th Pusan International Film Festival on October 10th, 4:30 pm at New World Haeundae Centum City Hall.

Matsumoto Hitoshi is currently hosting a music program in Fuji TV called “Hey Hey Hey Music Champ”. He showed a deep affection to Korean singers who are advancing to Japan such as BoA, TVXQ, and SS501.

Remember that “web toon drama” called SETI (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence)? The fantasy series by a manhwa writer released its first two episodes online this week, and the interest has been very high.

The series is comprised of short segments a little over a minute long that feature Seo Hyo-rim (Job Well Done) and SS501 member Kim Kyu-jong. SETI mixes live action with a “manhwa world,” which is achieved by mixing live photography with enhanced illustrations in the background. In the first three days of its release, the first installment drew in more than 600,000 views, with word of mouth reportedly traveling fast.

Each “episode” is really more like a skit — think of a long commercial more than traditional episode — and takes a cute tone. The two characters are a young couple who are part of a club that searches the skies for signs of alien life.

Seo Hyo-rim said of the successful launch, “I had no idea there would be so many people interested in this. I’ll try my best to work even harder and not disappoint.”

Episode 2: Mi-ju and Ho-shik look up at the stars, but Mi-ju can’t see any. Ho-shik instructs her how to see better and gives her some scientific facts, which annoys her.
