[news] Girls' Generation and f(x) copy Ex-S Club 7 member, Rachel Stevens?

New Chocolate CF Song "Chocolate Love" not so new?

Girls' Generation and f(x) have released their own unique and representative version of the song "Chocolate Love" in order to promote LG's new Chocolate phone for Cyon... but is it really unique?

I thought the song was a bit predictable at first, and after a while realized the beat was extremely similar to a song by former S Club 7 member, Rachel Stevens, "Sweet Dreams My LA EX."

Many of you may remember Rachel Stevens from the group S Club 7, that debuted in 1999 and had a string of hit TV shows and singles until their break-up in 2003. Rachel's first solo single, "Sweet Dreams My LA Ex,"was produced by Bloodshy & Avant and released in September 2003.

It just so happens that Bloodshy & Avant produced "Chocolate Love" for SNSD and f(x).

While both songs are not exactly the same, the similarities are quite obvious. Maybe it is a coincidence? Perhaps... but after finding out both songs were produced by Bloodshy & Avant, it makes me feel that SNSD and f(x) just received a recycled song... How do you guys feel?

Personally, I think they just changed the chorus around a bit, and made "Chocolate Love" sound less acoustic. In no way am I attacking SNSD or f(x), or accusing them of plagiarizing... but being a fan of S Club 7 when I was younger, it just clicked in my head.

Both songs don't sound that similar. Maybe the beat? Idk but the songs don't sound exactly the same. Plus, the same producers were the ones that produced both songs. So it doesn't really matter. No need to make such a big deal about similarities between songs cause of course lots of songs aren't original & may use beats that have already been used in other songs.

SNSD nor SM entertainment did not copy the song. I mean, how many musical notes and tones are there in the world?..only a few.. and how many written songs are there in the world? MILLIONS. My point is that it's unavoidable to have similar melodies and music. And another thing, if the producer or writer of the song sold his/her song to a company, it is given and acceptable to use his/her song by the company, or an artist under that company. The song is considered sold and could be used anytime the company wishes to.
