The total number of homepage background songs that have sold has passed the 400 million mark.

SK Communications' Cyworld revealed in the morning of the 10th that their total sales figure for BGMs has exceeded 400 million.

After passing the 300 million mark last June, it took them about a year to sell 100 million more. They started selling BGMs in July of 2002 and it took them four years and ten months to reach 200 million songs sold by May of 2007. They have managed to sell more than 100 million songs every year since then and lead the online music market.

The company explained the popularity behind their BGM service by saying, "Because it is easy to purchase songs with acorns [Cyworld's currency], the interests of netizens directly result in purchases."

The company also mentioned that due to 'Naengmyun' from the 'Infinity Challenge Song Festival' hitting first place on music charts the day it was released, Cyworld is becoming the place where people can most quickly express their interests in the song.

SK Comm.'s 'Digital Music Award', which started in August of 2006, has vitalized the online music market. On the 20th, the combined 36th and 37th awards ceremonies will present awards to 2NE1, 4minute, Yoonsang, and No Reply, who represent a variety of genres and generations.

Chief of Contents Jang Joonyoung said, "The Cyworld BGM service is more than just a way of circulating music online. The service is energizing the online music market because we base it on the social aspect of letting people listen to their friends' music. From now on, we will offer a download service and a mobile streaming service so many people can conveniently use online music."

SK Comm. has released the top ten best selling songs of the year. Using the total sales figures up until July, first place goes to SNSD's 'Gee'. The new girl group 2NE1 has three songs in the top ten with 'I Don't Care', 'Fire', and 'Lollipop' so they seem to be the singers to look out for this year.

Davichi Kang Min Kyung and 2AM Jo Kwon have revealed that their wish after turning age of 20 is to go clubbing.

They were both on Mnet Madam B’s Salon aired on 12th June when they said “After turning 20, the thing that I want to do most is to go clubbing.”

Kang Min Kyung said, “I debuted when I was 19 and I couldn’t go to places like clubs, though I had the wish to go clubbing, now that more people have known me it seems quite impossible”.

Meanwhile Jo Kwon also revealed that he wished to film for a milk CF. He said, “I can drink just milk with the happiness expression.”

2PM wins number #1 on KBS Music Bank earlier today (090612) .

7 member performance group , 2PM , is currently into their first week of promotions for second title track I Hate You . They managed to claim the number 1 spot on KBS Music Bank today with Again & Again .

Unfortunately for SHINee , 2PM had edged past them to be standing with the top 3 contenders for today's number 1 -- which included Super Junior and M.Net Special Project Team consisting of Davichi, SeeYa and Jiyeon .

Emerging as number #1 for today's K-Charts , which also represents 2PM's first win on KBS Music Bank , 2PM finally edged past sunbaes Super Junior who had been winning the number 1 spot on MuBank the weeks before the previous .

Despite not being in the top 3 , SHINee showed great sportsmanship by congratulating the boys from 2PM . Yayyy ;DDDDD

P.S. If you're wondering . They won with the song Again & Again , not I Hate You . ^^;; And SHINee wasn't in top 3 either for this week .

Artistes will come together for the 2nd ‘Star Donation Meteor’ concert. The 1st of this concert was held last October and was aired on KBS as ‘Korea is 1 Family’.

And for this concert, the performing artistes like SHINee, 2PM, 2AM, Davichi, Jo Sung Mo, Lee Jung Hyun, ChaeYeon, TaeGoon, Bae Seul Gi, After School, Park Hyun Bin, Drunken Tiger, Yoo Mi Rae, Tei, LeeSsang etc.

The concert is sponsored by Who Is and KBS, and supported by Cultural and Physical education tourism board, SK Telecom, Nike, Dragonfly, I Love Plastic Surgery Dermatology. It will be held on 20th June in Seoul Korean University’s stadium. Proceeds to the concert will be contributed to help the needy.

Their debut song ‘Fire’ is up at #1 position on the chart for the 3rd week of May. The debut song of the group has gave good results to be up on the chart for 2 weeks consecutively. While the CM song ‘Lollipop’ they sang together with Big Bang has fell 3 positions to be at #11, staying on the chart for its 9th week.

Super Junior continues to show their prowess as they took home Number 1 with a total of 10, 347 votes . 2PM , who have been placed behind Super Junior for 3 weeks now , came in second with a total of 8, 048 votes . Special project team Davichi , SeeYa & Jiyeon achieved a total of 6,966 votes .
