The most wanted celebrities by advertisers for the first half of 2009 have just been revealed. The results are according to a recent survey by the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation.
The top female celebrity was Korean figure skating champion and 2010 Olympic Gold Medal contender Kim Yu Na. Yu Na has been the Nation’s sweetheart ever since winning the World Championship in record setting style. Other top female celebrities included Kim Tae Hee, Jeon Ji Hyun, Lee Hyori, Kim Nam Joo, Han Ga In, and Lee Young Ae.
The top male celebrity is a surprise, it’s Speedy Scandal’s Cha Tae Hyun. Oppa, say what? Although Tae Hyun is hilarious and a great actor, I can’t believe he beat out top competitors like Rain, Jang Dong Gun, Park Ji Sung, Lee Min Ho, and Lee Seung Gi. So what do you think? Would you give up your hard earned cash for something that Yu Na or Tae Hyun sold you? Or are advertisers chasing after the wrong celebrities?
Tickets for Korean actor Lee Min-ho's fan meeting set for late-November in Japan sold out in an hour, according to the star's agency on Monday.
"Despite it being a launching event for the fan club in Japan, many Asian fans from Taiwan, Thailand and China are still asking about the tickets," Starhaus Entertainment explained. "Therefore, we are considering holding additional events in Osaka and other places."
Tickets for the event, tentatively titled "Minoz JAPAN First Event", were exclusively sold through his official fan club. However, too many people signed up for the fan club to buy tickets for the event, leaving many members without tickets, Starhaus said.
At the event, his official fan club in Japan "Minoz Japan" will kick off while the 22-year-old actor will also celebrate the publication of his first photo book "Travel with MINHO", containing never-before seen photographs of the actor on location in Sydney and London as well as past interviews and a letter to fans.
Lee debuted as a model and appeared in several TV dramas before making it big earlier this year with the popular drama "Boys Over Flowers".

Talent Lee MinHo’s fanclub is known to have donated 9.97 million KRW to UNICEF.
DCInside ‘Lee MinHo Gallery’ fans have recently done a fund-raising for UNICEF malaria campaign. Fans donated the amount of 6.22 million KRW, which stands for a special meaning because Lee MinHo’s birthday falls on 22nd June. Also another fancafe Dave donated 3.75 million KRW which made up to the 9.97 million KRW amount.
It was known that Lee MinHo has recently taken part in UNICEF malaria campaign, and the fan raising for the campaign has started from beginning of September. The campaign wants to bring awareness to the mass public that every year over 500 million folks are infected with the disease.
Lee MinHo has agreed to help out with the campaign amidst his busy schedule. He did videos and poster filming for the campaign.
A UNICEF staff voiced that nowadays fans are following and support their stars in the many causes they serve, and not just doing projects for the benefits of the stars themselves.

But the good news is that Lee Minho will still be in Singapore two weeks later instead, on 24th October for a 2D1N promotional trip. 2NE1 member Sandara Park’s solo debut song ‘Kiss’ has went up to #1 on the 2nd week of September on Mnet weekly chart on Mnet.com for its first week on the chart.
The song ‘Kiss’ went up to the #1 spot 4 days after its first reveal, and also the MV to the song which features Boys Over Flowers actor Lee MinHo revealed on 10th September has also gained the song much interests.
With that Kim TaeWoo is at #2 with his comeback song ‘Love Rain’ rising up 20 positions, singer Lee SeungChul’s ‘Love is Difficult’ also rose up 40 positions to be at #8.
On the chart this week, it seems that the solo singers are gaining the influence in Kpop – of the top 10 positions, 5 positions were occupied by solos singers. This is something new from the era of the girlgroups in summer.
GDragon has fallen 2 positions down to #3 with his solo debut song ‘Heartbreaker’ and another solo singer Baek Ji Young is up #7 with ‘My Ear’s Candy’.
And 8eight member Lee Hyun’s solo debut ‘30 minutes ago’ is also doing strong at #10 for its first week on the chart.

On the premium event held today for “Boys over Flowers” drama promo at Yokohama National University Hall, Goo Hye Sun brought a cool song performance and also have a good dialogue session on the subject between Korean artistes and Japanese fans. During the event, the event organizer, IMX (Interactive Media Mix), and “Boys over Flowers” production company, Group Eight, also brought in Goo Hye Sun’s self composed song “Around The Alley” which surprised many Japanese fans.

The “Boys Over Flowers” character, Lee MinHo has recently been in a fan meeting scam.
On one Thailand site, they were selling tickets to a Lee MinHo fan meeting with the exact date and the location as well. What is the catch you ask?
Only the fact that this fan meeting wasn’t even going to take place. On the 26th, when Lee MinHo’s entertainment heard about this news, they firmly stated “We never have been notified of a fan meeting in Thailand, and we are not looking forward to any.”
In addition, they stated, “We were surprised to hear that there had been a scam. We need to act fast on it because everything would just end up hurting the fans.” On the sites it stated that on October 24th, 2,000 people will be gathering at the Bangkok HuAhMakInDo Stadium. They sold the front seats for 800 dollars with the hotel and food included, and rest of the seats for around 200 dollars.
The site even states that Lee MinHo will sing 2 songs, play games with the fans, and a movie will be shown to the fans as well.
