[news] Tohoshinki Discusses Secret to Success

Idol group Tohoshinki members JEJUNG and YUCHUN has been performing as a duo for a limited period! On September 30th they will release a single titled ‘COLORS~Melody and Harmony/Shelter’! The two composed and arranged the songs themselves. The songs feature simple yet beautiful harmonies that will be easy for fans to remember and sing along. A Japanese women’s magazine interviewed the two artists!

――Do you have any advice on how to sing the songs harmoniously in karaoke?
“Tohoshinki songs should be easier for women to sing. When trying to sing in harmony one person just has to sing two keys lower than the main vocals.” (JEJUNG)
“Practice hard until you can create a single melody instead of singing two separate ones.” (YUCHUN)

――Both of you look more mature than your age. That makes you all the more attractive.
“Who? Us?? Do I look that old?” (JEJUNG)

――No, since both of you are so polite and neat, you look very appealing.
“Oh, I see. But are you sure I don’t look old?” (JEJUNG)

YUCHUN has recently gotten into a habit of rising early. JEJUNG told the reporter that he was easing stress by singing karaoke. One of the keys to their success must be their ability to manage stress and lead a healthy life.

[News] 3 DBSK Members’ Investment Cosmetics Company Sue SM for Defamation Issue

Seoul Central District Court officer revealed on August 26th that a representative of CREBEAU (위샵플러스) cosmetic company had filed lawsuit against SM Entertainment in charge of defamation issue on August 4th.

CREBEAU representative said, “The problem that is filed by 3 members who are also investors in our company is something to do with the unfair distribution income and to terminate the exclusive contract effect. However, SM keeps distorting the essence of the issue by saying that the main reason of their lawsuit is related to the cosmetic company. This is definitely a false representation and inflicts a serious libel to our company.”

[NEWS] Xiah Junsu’s 45 Million Won Advanced Payment Rumor…”Completely False”

TVXQ’s Xiah Junsu, who is currently in a dispute with his agency said through Sejong that the news report stating he “Received payment of 45 million Won in advance from SM Entertainment a month before the lawsuit” is “completely false.”"

SME’s lawyer said at the first hearing today regarding the suspension of the exclusive contract request that, “Xiah Junsu (Kim Junsu)received 45 million Won in advanced payment on July 15th,” and “Seeing as this was done one month before the trial, it is hard to see it as an action that has nothing to do with the lawsuit.” Sejong’s side cuttingly replied to a reporter on the phone that, “That did not happen.”

He said, “If that did happen, it was probably to settle his account for his income taxes,” and “They are being ridiculous by making it seem like Xiah Junsu received that payment to prepare for this trial,” and could not control his anger at the rumor.

He also said, “Ever since they debuted in 2004, SME has been in charge of all tax payments such as the composite income tax regarding TVXQ’s income,” and “The composite income tax is settled depeding on how much the group earns for the first half of each year and was given to the members to pay in the form of advanced payments.Xiah Junsu received this money from SME to deal with a problem in his income tax account.“

He also added, “If they reveal that the other members received advanced payment during the same time then this rumor can be taken care of,” and “Xiah Junsu has never taken advanced payment to pay for personal or legal reasons.”

SM Entertainment’s lawyer stated during the first hearing on the 21st that, “Kim Junsu received an advanced payment of 45 million Won.”

T/N: *I know this might be confusing so let me make it clear for you
SME: Kim Junsu took an advanced payment of 45 million Won to pay for his legal actions
TVXQ: Kim Junsu has been given money from SME in the form of an advanced payment ever since the group debuted in 2004 to pay his taxes. SME has taken this and twisted this.*

[NEWS] TVXQ’s 3 Members Side, “Without Revealing The Entire Contract, It Will Be Hard To Reach An Agreement”

[NEWS] TVXQ’s 3 Members “Cosmetic Business Is The Most Common Venture For Celebrities”

TVXQ’s three members, who are currently in a dispute with SM Entertainment (SME) over the period of their exclusive contract and the income division, have stated that the cosmetic company is not the focus of this trial.

The first hearing of the lawsuit between the three members of TVXQ, YoungWoong Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun and Xiah Junsu, and their agency SM Entertainment began at 10:20 am on the 21st.

At this hearing, the three members’ lawyer explained their unlawful exclusive contract in reference to the contract period and the unfair income division. But the lawyer did not talk of the cosmetic company that SME stated was the real reason behind this lawsuit.

When the judge asked the lawyer why he did not refer to the cosmetic company, the three members’ lawyer stated, “The cosmetic company is not a big deal and entering the cosmetic business is the most common venture among celebrities,” and “We did not feel that money was the problem in this lawsuit so we did not talk about it on its own.”

He also said, “The trust the three members had with SME was destroyed because of reasons such as the extremely long period of their exclusive contract and the questionable income division that SME has stated. It has become hard for both sides to have a good celebrity-agency relationship,” and “We hope this lawsuit will become a chance for TVXQ to have a free contract in which they are allowed to pursue any free and creative activities that they wish to partake in.”

[news] TVXQ vs. SM Entertainment Trial Begins

Three members of TVXQ – Hero Jae-jung, Xia Jun-su, and Micky Yu-cheon – want to part with their management agency SM Entertainment, but do not wish to break up the team. In a hearing held at the Seoul District Court late Friday morning the three members’ legal representative from the law firm Shin & Kim (also known as Sejong Law Firm) spoke about how the group’s contract is unfair and how the profit has not been distributed properly. SM Entertainment countered it by claiming that the agency incurred loss for four straight years while the members were in training and the profit payment was carried out fair and square.

During the hearing the lawyer said that the three members want to move to another agency, but also want to continue on their careers as TVXQ. The Shin & Kim lawyer cited another long-running K-pop group, Shinhwa, as an example of group members belonging to different agencies, yet working together.

The hearing reportedly went on with both sides fiercely arguing their positions. The court said that a mediation period can be set aside, if the two parties agreed, and recommended that the two parties settle the case to wrap up the proceeding quickly. Meanwhile, 120 thousand of TVXQ fans have filed a petition against SM Entertainment’s unfair long-term contract to the Seoul District Court on Thursday.

TVXQ and SM Entertainment (SME), who are currently in a dispute over TVXQ’s exclusive contract, have both stated that they do not wish for a disbandment of the group.

The first hearing for the lawsuit TVXQ’s YoungWoong Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun, and Xiah Junsu filed against SM began on the 21st at 10:20 am.

The three members’ lawyer said, “If you look at Shinhwa, although each member is in a different agency, they still perform as one group and the three members, even if they move agencies, do not wish to disband.”

The three members of TVXQ filed for an Exclusive Contract Validity Suspension and Provisional Disposition Request against their agency SM Entertainment on July 31st. They also filed for a Preservation of Evidence Request to be able to calculate their exact income.

The three members asked for a suspension of their contract due to unlawful clauses but SME stated that the three members were filing this lawsuit due to a conflict because of their cosmetic company; both sides refused to back down from their statements. [news] DBSK Hero, Micky and Xiah’s official stand about their discord with SM

Idol group Dong Bang Shin Ki’s members Micky YooChun, Hero JaeJoong and Xiah JunSu finally revealed their stand about their problems with SM Entertainment.

Their representative revealed through news media on 3rd August, “The 5 years period after they debuted, the 3 of them felt that their minds and their bodies are tired having to follow the tight schedule that the company put up unilaterally.”

They continued, “Kim JunSu, Kim JaeJoong and Park YooChun has been following SM’s instruments from beginning of 2004 till now, going back and forth promoting in Korea, Japan, China etc, and in a year except for 1 week they get only 3-4 hours of sleep a day to do our schedule.”

Also, “In the process the health of the 3 members are very much deteriorated, they are also suffering from mental fatigue, and as time went SM continue to established on their own decision for Dong Bang Shin Ki to advance into other countries. In the end the 3 members felt that as compared to be fulfilling their dreams to be singers, they are used more as a tool by the compared to earn profits, and they wish to use each of the members to also go into other entertainers’ activities.”

The 3 members’ representative also added, “It is a 13 years contract but in reality it is a lifetime contract. With the exclusive rights clause in the contract, the 13 years also include the time the members are serving their military service, hence it will go for more than 15 years. And now it has not even been near to 10 years since the group’s debut, hence it seems like the contract will last until the members’ retirement from the entertainment zone. The penalty for retracting the exclusive right clause is 3 times the investment cost and 2 times the lost in earnings. They also asked about the penalty of cancelling the whole contract but it will involve several hundred billions KRW of penalty, hence in reality there is no way out but to be tied down to SM because of the contract.”

Also, “The members did not receive the right treatment even from SM. Without getting any contract fees, the initial contract was that if their album sells more than 500K copies, each member will get about 10 million KRW during the next album release. If they sell less than 500K copies of album, they will get nothing.”

The 3 members had went down to Seoul Central District Court to file for a retractile of their exclusive belonging rights with SM Entertainment on 31st July, causing an outrage of speculations about the group’s disbanding and also problems between the members and SM.
